On 29.05.2025, Olaine chemical plant BIOLAR, in cooperation with state institutions and local government institutions, held on the territory of the enterprise, at the address 3 Rupnicu Str., Olaine, local practical exercises on civil defense and disaster management.
During the exercise, a situation was staged when the connection of a chlorine cylinder was damaged, which led to a chlorine leak. At the scene, the emergency brigade and firefighters took the necessary measures to prevent an emergency.
The purpose of the exercise was to test the procedures and planned activities set out in the civil defense plan in case of a threat of accidents, as well as to check the coherence of the actions of the participants involved in the exercise in performing the tasks of the civil defense system.
The training was attended by the employees of the company, officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD), the State Environmental Service (VVD), the Olaine County Local Government, the Olaine Municipal Police, the State Police, the Ambulance Service (NMPD) and the National Guard Security Service of the National Armed Forces (NBS).
