On the territory of JSC Olaine chemical plant BIOLAR (hereinafter referred to as the Company), in cooperation with state and municipal institutions, at the address, 3 Rupniņu Street, Olaine, on 29.05.2025 at 11:00, a practical local civil defense drill will be held.
During the training, a situation will be simulated in which the connection of a chlorine cylinder was damaged, which led to a chlorine leak. At the scene, emergency services and firefighters will take the necessary measures to prevent an emergency.
The purpose of the drill is to test the procedure provided for in the Civil Defense Plan and the planned activities in the event of an emergency, as well as to test the coherence of the actions of the drill participants in fulfilling the tasks of the civil defense system.
The training will be attended by the employees of the company, officials of the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD), the State Environmental Service (VVD), the Olaine County Local Government, the Olaine Municipal Police, the State Police, the Ambulance Service (NMPD) and the National Guard Security Service of the National Armed Forces (NBS).
During the training, emergency vehicles will be driving with their sound and light signals on, so we urge residents not to worry. The organizers of the training apologize to residents in advance for the inconvenience caused during the training - rerouting traffic outside the potential risk zone, closing certain sections of roads near the enterprise, as well as sound signals generated by emergency vehicles and sirens.
We also inform you that there are no plans to disconnect utilities or completely stop traffic.
